Smile Makeup Restorations
OVERVIEW

The Advanced Program builds on foundational skills, focusing on anterior teeth and Smile Makeup Restorations, including composite veneers, to achieve esthetic excellence. Participants apply the MiCD Resto Concept and 4R Protocol in patient-specific esthetic planning, using naturomimetic layering techniques with conventional and OptiBlend composite systems. The module emphasizes shade management, anatomical replication, translucency control, and addresses common anterior esthetic challenges such as discoloration, diastema closure, and smile harmonization. By integrating science, artistry, and adhesive protocols, clinicians develop the ability to deliver highly esthetic, functionally sound, and predictable anterior restorations, bridging foundational skills to complex interdisciplinary applications.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

Understand and implement the MiCD Resto Concept and 4R Clinical Protocol (Recognize – Reinforce – Restore – Refine) in the management of anterior esthetic restorations, integrating principles of biologically respectful tooth preservation, smile enhancement, and functional harmony.

Apply Quick Smile Design and Smile Makeup principles in restorative planning to optimize tooth proportion, visual alignment, and smile harmony while maintaining functional and structural balance.

Perform minimally invasive preparation and restorative strategies for anterior teeth, including direct composite veneers, tooth shape, size, and position modification, and color correction while preserving maximal enamel substrate.

Execute naturomimetic composite layering techniques using conventional and OptiBlend composite systems to control translucency, chroma, and value for predictable optical blending with adjacent teeth.

Reproduce accurate anterior tooth morphology, macro- and micro-surface texture, and optical characteristics to achieve restorations that integrate naturally within the existing dentition.

Perform advanced finishing and polishing protocols to establish appropriate surface gloss, anatomical refinement, and long-term esthetic and functional stability of anterior composite restorations.
